  • How many sons?

...The second chapter of Psalms is thought to speak about (jesus), to many christians. It really speaks of Davids throne.
Ps.2:7 speaks of the house of Yahudah, of which all its sons are considered sons of YHWH. David is son by Ps.89:27, "Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth." Ps.89:20 shows that the author is speaking of David. Solomon is son by 2Sam.7:14, (YHWH speaks, saying) "I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chastise him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men" Solomon is even further indicated by Ps.72:8 which states,"He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth." This goes with Ps.2:8, "Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the utmost part of the earth for thy possession." Hosea finishes off making all the tribe of Yahudah, sons of YHWH in Hos.1:10, "-there it shall be said unto them, Ye are sons of (bani El kh'i), sons of the living (GD). In the context of Hos.1:7,Yahudah is inferred, {but I will have mercy upon the house of Yahudah} This may even include the other family of YHWH,{refered to variously as Israel or Ephraim},when they are combined with Yahudah to become one people with one king over them. Hos.1:11=Eze.37:22. So there are really very many sons of YHWH. The house of Yahudah has an everlasting arrangment with YHWH through their Eloheem's promise to David to make his throne an everlasting throne. As Jehoiachin was the last king to occupy the throne of David, YHWH is forced to sit down in the name of Yahudah, as King, to keep from being made a liar. A promise is a promise. All praise to KING YHW(D)H who preserves Davids throne. A people can bear the name of their Eloheem if they are family. Gen.49:10=2Chr.28:4=1Ki.11:36=Yahudah,the only name in which a king can occupy the throne of David. The second chapter of Psalms relates to the tribe of Yahudah. Yahudah is the name of the son. Yahudah is the name of the father also. Yahudah is even the root of Jesse. The promise is also for the priesthood of Aaron to remain, setting YHWH on the same throne as Priest and king, like Melchizedek. Jer.33:17,18. ....Michael

Hosea 1 :11 includes all the house of Israel and all the house of Judah in its designation of the "sons" of Eloheem. These peoples are to be gathered together under one head. All are to be gathered into the tribe of Yahudah. So all of YHWH's people are to be his sons, making YHWH Eloheinu, father of his house. The term, "sons", must also imply "daughters" of YHWH. The daughters are as much a part of L'YHWH Elohenu mishpachah as are the sons. I wonder if the authors of the tanakh, didn't think of the daughters of YHWH, more in terms of a "wife to husband" relationship? YHWH is husband to his people, he is even "mother" to his people. (Isa.46:3) ....Michael
