The Special Air Service (SAS) is the principal special forces organization of the British Army. Selection and Training

Commanding Officer (CO) Major John Woodhouse introduced SAS Selection in 1952. Before that, troopers had earned their credentials in the field.

SAS Selection and Training is the most demanding military training course in the British Army: it reportedly only has a pass rate of 2-10%. It is a test of strength, endurance, and resolve over the Brecon Beacons and Elan Valley in Wales, and in the jungle of Brunei. The Namib Desert is also used as a desert training ground. 'Selection' takes around 6 months to complete.

Selection is held twice a year regardless of conditions. A candidate must be male and have been a regular member of the Armed Forces for at least three years or a member of 21 SAS or 23 SAS (which can be joined directly from civilian life) for at least 18 months. All soldiers who apply must have at least 39 months of military service remaining. A candidate who fails any stage of the selection is 'Returned to [his parent] Unit' (RTU'd). Candidates are allowed only two attempts at selection, after which they may never reapply.

Like other sections of the British armed forces, the SAS accepts members from the Commonwealth, with notable representation from Fiji, the former Rhodesia, New Zealand and Australia. The Parachute Regiment is the SAS's main recruiting area.

We were selected before the foundation of the world, and we can only be RTU'd if we ourselves elect to fail.

Dying With Messiah!

Thank you for your response. Leaders lead the fight against sin and death. They attack and destroy these things in themselves with a whole lot of help (grace).

I am glad you died! I am glad you were crucified with Messiah. Now, I am going to ask you exactly how you were crucified with Messiah? How exactly did you through the Torah die with Messiah, and how did you through the Torah thereby destroy the sinner in yourself ([i.e., if I build again the things that I destroyed {sin and desth})? These are all related questions.

I think that it is important to know how we all really died with Messiah and how this all happened through Torah!!! Of course, you know, I could be wrong. I have been wrong in the past.

I can only tell you of my experience of dying.

Everyone has a "thing"/"thorn" they need to OVERCOME.
This "thorn" (a temptable thing) was left,
by GOD YHSHWH, in me so, that I don't get a "big head".
I know HIS WORD and can, at times,
get too "smart" for my own good.
Many times convicting myself.

And lest I should be exalted above measure
through the abundance of the revelations,
there was given to me a thorn in the flesh,
the messenger of Satan to buffet me,

I have learned that I, "self", cannot LOVE.
I don't know how to LOVE.
I can "stand" those that "benefit" me
and "not stand" those that do not "benefit" me.
I realized I could not LOVE.

HIS WHOLE LAW is HIS LOVE for me
and how I am to LOVE HIM and others.
How could I say that I was SON of GOD YHSHWH
and not even LOVE HIM and others?

I had to know HIS WORD to know HIS SPIRIT.

No matter how I felt;

I was going to have FAITH in GOD YHSHWH.

Then, in SUBMITTANCE to HIS SPIRIT,
HIS WORD made sense:

I was LOVING HIM.
I was dying to LOVE HIM
in my SUBMISSION to HIM, HIS SPIRIT, and HIS WAYS.

This word ""BE"" means - have the reality of.

In this HIS submission, you, yourself, have somehow died. How did your death occur when you yourself have abundantly admitted that you yourself had no power to submit to HIS SPIRIT, THE TORAH?:

Dying For One's Sin!

Thank you for your reply!

Paul taught that the Torah was added to the promise to show exactly who the promised Seed would be (Galatians 3:19). Abraham obeyed in everything commanded so his Seed should also obey in everything commanded. Like father, like son must also apply to Abraham and his Seed, the Messiah.

In this manner the Torah supports the promise of YAHWEH. The Torah (the Old Covenant) gives to the Children of Israel the grace of transgressions so that when the Messiah appears, he immediately stands out like a sore thumb because Messiah was indeed sinless while all the rest of the claimants are obvious sinners.

Before the Torah was added, any child of Israel could claim to be the Seed of Abraham. After the giving of the Torah, all are suddenly made sinners, and all are thereby disqualified from being the Seed. Again, in order to be the Seed, one must do as Abraham did (John 8:39-40, Genesis 26:5)! Sinners need not apply!

This is Paul's argument in Galatians 3. In Romans 5 Paul states that the Law entered to increase the Offence (verse 20). The Offence is the sin of Adam. So the Torah was given so that the Children of Israel would all make the same choice of deliberate sin as did Adam. The end result of this increase of sin is the increase of grace (verse 20).

Paul understood that our sin, the transgression of the Torah, is transformed into righteousness through the gracious right hand work of Messiah Yahushua. This is a spiritual transformation that takes place through the Cross, and this gift of righteousness can only be apprehended through faith. It is strictly a matter of belief. This righteousness comes by sin (Galatians 2:17). This righteousness does not come by works of the Torah. Whoever accepts this righteousness is proven to be a sinner.

I have accepted this righteousness so I am indeed a sinner. Now, the issue for me becomes this: Have I died for my own sin? Paul emphatically argues in Romans chapter 6: YES SIR! I died with Messiah. I was crucified with Messiah. I now live to serve HIM because I have been given the gracious gift of death according to my sinful works and the gracious gift of Eternal Life both through the same Seed, my Savior, Messiah Yahushua (verse 23)!

So, in HIM we are buried with HIM in death:

were leading you to death.

If I seek my own SALVATION/JUSTIFICATION in MESSIAH,
I am found to be a sinner.

If I start building, again,
what I destroyed in HIS DEATH,
I make myself an enemy/transgressor of GOD YHSHWH.

GAL 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

For according to HIS LAW
I cannot justify myself/I am dead to HIS LAW.
So, that I might LIVE for the GLORY of GOD YHSHWH.



GAL 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you,
whosoever of you are justified by the law;
ye are fallen from grace.

MESSIAH, and what HE HAS DONE,
has BECOME of no effect
for whosoever of you tries to justify yourself by HIS LAW.
You have fallen from GRACE.


GOD YHSHWH'S LAW never says,
"I AM of no use to you.
Do not submit to me."

HIS LAW does SAY,
"Do not SUBMIT to me for your own SALVATION; on your own."
(...whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.)

I am dead to sin.
I AM ALIVE in the LAW of my HUSBAND.

The Sin And The Grace!

I suppose that your reply was meant for me so I do thank you for it.

In this area, we are climbing Currahee so each trail up the mountain must be carefully noted and mastered before our training can be completed.

Adam gave mankind the gift of death. Sin entered the world (the Matrix) though the Offence of Adam, and death entered through this sin. This is how Adam is a type of Messiah. Both Adam and Messiah gave gifts to mankind

Here is a literal translation of Romans 5:20:

Moreover Torah entered in order that the Offence might increase, but where the Sin increased, the Grace superincreased.

When Torah was given to the Children of Israel, it was given so that the Offence of Adam might increase. Wherever this gift of the Sin increases, the Grace also increases. So, where you have the one, you have the other. Thus, through Torah both the sin and the grace enter. Sin and grace from the perspective of ELOHIM are two sides of the same coin.

I mean, think about this a little. Did our forefathers ask that they be given the Law? No! The Law was freely given (graciously) to them, and then they were asked as to whether or not they would keep it? They agreed to keep the Torah, and from the date of their acceptance, they now, each of them, have the same opportunity to commit the Offence as did Adam.

Without Torah, they have no chance of committing the Offence! With Torah, the opportunity is there, and whenever and wherever they took advantage of the opportunity, and they all did (They all committed the Offence), the Grace is right there.

How in all the Matrix can this be?

Climbing The Mountain!

HIS LAW ENTERED and sin was abundant (in me)
but,
where sin is abundant, GRACE should BE MORE ABUNDANT.
sin reigned, in me, leading me to death.
Now, GRACE REIGNS in me so that through HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS
I will have ETERNAL LIFE (made possible) by MESSIAH YHSHWH, our GOD.

Allow me to change your words to make them correspond more closely to the truth

HIS LAW ENTERED and the Sin was abundant (in me)
but,
where the Sin is abundant, the GRACE is more ABUNDANT.
Just as the Sin reigned, in me, leading me to death.
Now, the GRACE REIGNS in me through RIGHTEOUSNESS unto ETERNAL LIFE through YHSHWH MESSIAH, the ADONAI of us.

Both the Sin and the Grace must reign in me. The Grace can be defined as the gift of righteousness (see verse 17). Just as the Sin is my sin so also is the righteousness my righteousness. We are not given Messiah's righteousness. What good would it do to give me Messiah's righteousness (please see Ezekiel 14:14, 20)? I must learn how to climb the mountain myself. Messiah cannot climb the mountain for me.

On the surface, it does appear that I am falling down the mountain side though all of my missteps, my Offences, does it not? But ELOHIM has done a wonderful thing for me. ELOHIM has turned my missteps into steps of righteousness through the work of Messiah Yahushua. It may look like I am falling, but through grace, this is not the case. Through grace, I am actually climbing. Through grace, I am running up Currahee.

Walking With ELOHIM!

Hi Israelthebride,

The Grace of ELOHIM does indeed train and teach us. Indeed, the Grace of ELOHIM works to make us free from sin and death. So, the Grace of ELOHIM does bring us to point where we are able to renounce evil and choose the good. The Grace of ELOHIM does bring us to the point of submission. How did this work for you, Israelthebride? How did the Grace of ELOHIM train you? How did you learn to choose the good?

This is how I was trained by grace. YAHWEH ELOHIM gave the Torah to my forefathers. This giving of the Torah is grace. They then committed themselves and their offspring to the doing of the Torah. They failed miserably, and so did their offspring. Does ELOHIM give gifts so that we fail? Absolutely not! If ELOHIM gives us HIS LAW, then with that LAW will also somehow come the gracious ability to keep it.

Why then do all fail to keep the Law? This is necessary so that we truly and surely learn about our abilities. This happens so that the Grace of ELOHIM can teach us.

How did we learn to walk as little ones? First with climbing up, then after a number of attempts and failures with falling, we do suddenly reach out, and we take our first steps usually grasping something in our little hands for security.

It is the Torah that brought me to this very same point of walking with ELOHIM. The Torah gave me many commandments in which I did fail and fall. Even so, the Torah is a hard taskmaster. The Torah is relentless. The Torah never gives up. The Torah will not allow for defeat. The Torah keeps giving us directives and encouragement in the midst of all our failure: Walk, walk, come on, you can do it. You have already done it. Thus, the Torah makes us climb Currahee. (I have to laugh here. We have a trainer here that is more like Captain Sobel {In Hebrew, sobel means burden} than Captain Sobel himself. Easy Company had Captain Sobel; by the grace of ELOHIM, we have the Torah!)
