I read Isaiah 40:1-3 and it tells of a time when warfare for the people of YHWH is over. It says "Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned". Verse three is used to show that the one spoken of here is (jesus)in Mat.3:3, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths strait." Yet (jesus) says in Luke 19:43,44 "For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation." My question is this, doesn't this show that (jesus) is in the wrong time to be the one who is refered to here? Either he comforts YHWH's people and tells them that their warfare is over or he is in the wrong time. I'd like to add that many stones have been discovered in excavations that still lay one upon another. It seems that a better time to fulfill this prophecy would be now. Yet christianity prophecies upcoming war disallowing this prophecy to be realized. ....Michael
