  • Eid ul-Adha?

    Hi Everyone,

    Assalam Mu'alaikum!

I am seeking information about the animal sacrifice that takes place beginning on this day by Muslims. I am particularly interested if Islam has a theory of sacrifice that goes along with the obvious charity and sharing that must take place on this festival?

    Sincerely, Ab

If i remember correctly, this is the day that Ibrahim sacrifices Isma'il
and so they honor that by sacrificing- i dont know if there is any connection at all with charity giving- but this might be an act they do to also commemorate that Isma'il didn't die.
ONE G-D, ONE SPIRIT, ONE MESSIAH.
ONE COMMUNITY/IKKLESIA/K'HILLA, ONE BODY, ONE BRIDE.
ONE TORAH [MEMRA(audible) and KHOCHMA(written)], ONE MASORAH.

OBEY YE THE SOFRIM (HAKHAMIM) and the PERUSHIM for they are the only ones given right to and power to interpret scripture. DO AS THEY TELL YOU but do not do as the Colored-Rabbis and colored pharisees tell you, for they are Painted!(Matt 23:1-3)

      Pleasing To ALL-H?

      Hi Beseder,

Thank you for your reply. Last Sunday, I visited a Mosque, and I questioned a Muslim Sister about the theory of sacrifice in Islam. The Iman was not at the Mosque. He was engaged in the hajj so the Sister attempted to answer my questions. I know that she probably felt that I was a strange one. The Sister did not know the theory of sacrifice, so I questioned her about the rules around the sacrifice of animals. I asked if the blood required special treatment? She said that it did. I asked if there were rules in place concerning the slaughter of the animals? She said that there were, but she could not give me any information.

You are aware that Christians are substitutional in their thinking about sacrifice. The Jews were substitutional in their understanding about animal sacrifice. This is why all the prophets rail against the sacrifices of Judaism. I am curious about whether Islam thinks of their animal sacrifices (the lost life of the animal) as in any manner pleasing to ALL-H?

      Sincerely, Ab
