WHAT DOES THIS REALLY MEAN
The term “planted a garden” is in reference to the founding of a society.
The society in question is PERHAPS ancient Sumeria?

The passage then says the "LORD God" placed His creation within it.
The rest of the passage is in reference to a hierarchical supply system that furnishes the Adam with his basic needs with the "LORD God" at the top of the hierarchy, identical to the one you live in today.
Reference to the Tree of Knowledge is also made.

NOW FOR A MODERN CONTEXT
''The Garden of Eden'' was clearly a one of dependence and thus CONTROL.
