Hey you guys... I wanted to see what you guys "see" in this.
I put the "meanings" of the names in perenthesis.
Genesis 49:2
Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of
Jacob (heel bearer); and
hearken unto Israel (Yah Prevails) your father.
3 Reuben (Behold a son), thou art my firstborn, my might, and the "beginning" of MY strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4 Unstable as water (Yahshua walking/fulfilling is the "water" manifestation), thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
(People that hold the doctrine that Yahshua/Jesus is "equal" to G-d, but separate... thereby giving credit or honor not unto YAH for the "Work of HIS Hands" but give it to "another". This is only so when one does not see that Yahshua is YAH. And that YAH and Yah Only IS > SALVATION. Not a separate diety.)
5 Simeon (heard) and Levi (to join) are brethren; instruments of crueltyare in their habitation. 6 O my soul, come not thou into their "secret" > (this word is; "council"); unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their "SELF WILL" they digged down a wall. (took
away their cover) 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
8 Judah (to give praise/confess the Name of Yah), thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand (remember what Judahs name means, to give you an idea of what "his hand" is) > shall be in the neck (will) of thine enemies; (He will show forth Yah to his enemies, and their "neck"/will... shall succomb.)
thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
9 Judah is a lion's whelp (a baby): from the prey, my son, thou art gone up (grew up): he stooped down, he "couched"as a lion,
(just laid around and got fed? lol Isn't that what lions do? lol.)
and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
(he shall have no concern for the physical;he won't be "bothered"... i "think". )
10 The sceptre (rod, staff, branch) shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet
(Yah shall direct his steps, i think he knows this, or he feels it is so), until Shiloh (he whose it is/that which belongs to him) come;
and unto him the gathering of the people.
11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine (tears/emotion/repentance), and his clothes in the
blood of grapes: (this could either be; by being fruitful or by eating the sour grapes, which brought him to repentance.?)
12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
(he shall cry alot, but his speech will be pure or about YAH. not complaining)
13 Zebulun (exalted) shall dwell at the "haven" (from an unused root meaning "to cover") of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon (hunting).
14 Issachar (there is recompence) is a strong ass couching down between two "burdens"
# 8192 "to sweep bare"/barren. "Between two that are barren"?)
15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute ( # 4522 unto a gang or body of forced labour).
The only thing that I can figure is recompense is barren, and the flesh/physical... sin? is barren (for what profiteth the flesh?) But by bowing down to the two and bearing them on "his shoulders", he becomes a servant to a taskmaster. ??
16 Dan (judge) shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
("Judge not lest ye be judged" and the fact that the tribe "Dan" is not "numbered" amongst the 144,000 "sealed". Also as Satan said; "ye shall be like gods, knowing good and evil" ie; "Judge". But Yah only is judge. ?? )
19 Gad (# 1464&1413 attack/invade), a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
(I can't help but think of the ones in Rev. > the "remnant" being slain by the "mouth" of Yahshua and their flesh(their authority) being eaten... thereby being saved. "At the last"...for they are the "last" to be saved. People that don't want to "give up" their control, are also the ones that attack those that do.)
20 Out of Asher (happy/blessed/to set right) his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
21 Naphtali (wrestling/ to twist) is a hind let loose: he giveth "goodly words".
(I think of how the scriptures "twist", from physical, to spiritual, from "our hand" to "Yahs hand"... "goodly words"... aint that somthin.)
22 Joseph(# 3254; increase/to do again) is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty El of Jacob; from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:
25 Even by the El of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors (to be with child) unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was
separate from his brethren. (Joseph clearly is a "type" of Yahshua)
Everything about Joseph tells us he was a 'type' of Yahshua. "Rachel" means "sheep" and "sheep" give birth to lambs. Joseph means "fruitful" and as we Know Yahshua was the "first fruits". "sold by his brethren" , "thought to be
dead", coat of many colors... It goes on and on.
27 Benjamin (son of the right hand) shall ravin as a wolf
wolves are "flesh eaters) in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
In the "day" when one can "see" the truth...that Yah is authority of all that exists, he will show others and thereby "devour" the prey, or the fleshly authority, and at "night" when this is not so clear, he shall "divide the spoil". Not sure what dividing the spoil means... maybe words of comfort? or giving authority to others in the night??
28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
