I needed to know what “washing” means.
In Greek the only difference loosed and washed is the letter “o.”
The idea would be, therefore,
“Unto Him who loves us (continuously), and who has loosed us from our sins in His own blood.”
Since Christ has “loosed” or released us from our sins, the idea here would be that the blood of the Lord Jesus has freed us from the claim and power that sin once had over us.

so what would you think of a person who believed Messiah did not die on my behalf to save me from my sin?

Concerning sacrifices, can someone explain to me the following verses below. Why did Jephthah think He had to go through with his vow to offer His daughter to Adonai and why did not Adonai stop Him?

Hi Lucy, you ask several questions here and I will try to answer. Why did Satan hate the Cross? The Answer: The Cross is the Power of Elohim to defeat Satan and destroy his works:

1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of Elohim.

1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

You see Lucy, with Yeshua willingly submitting Himself to such a horrific event as the Cross, that willingness to not do His Will, but the Will of the Father, sets into motion the destruction of Satan's "works." Satan's works are works of iniquity..sin, and Yeshua suffered so that sinners might be delivered OUT of sin. Why? Because they come to the knowledge of the Truth concerning how their sin did cause Him to suffer so. It is a cause and effect outcome. Yeshua's blood being shed by US produces a heart felt repentance FROM sin, thus we are being washed and cleansed FROM sin (by His Blood). This cleansing FROM sin is not like how the substitutionalist believe where they feel the cleansing is accomplished APART from the sinner, being only the cleansing from the punishment or penalty of sin. This substitutional view of Yeshua's suffering and death only helps to keep Satan's works alive and active, it does not destroy his works.

Now, I know Spying has asked you before about WHY those who BELEIVE exactly as you do concerning the substitutional view of Yeshua dying in your place and paying off the penalty of your sin with His blood, all die. If your and their belief about Yeshua dying in your stead saves you, and you believe you have "life now" through that belief, why are they dying? What, are you going to tell me you have to start doing some "works" to be saved, like conforming to the Image of the One who kept what Moses told Him to do? You give lip service to saying you are conforming to the Image of His Son, but if you truly were, you would be doing as He did.

The second question, why is the Cross hated by the Jew and why are they still so deceived? That's a little easier to answer. The Jew of Paul's day was given a "blindness" in part so that the Gentiles could come in. In their "blindness," they were not allowed to "see" into the Spiritual Side of Moses' Law as the "veil" kept them from seeing it. The "veil" is the "works," or the physical keeping of the Law of Moses, and that "veil" is only removed when one is drawn by the Father to Yeshua. So the Jews of Paul's day hated the Cross because they were like you Lucy, only able to view the Law of Moses by "works." Now the good news is that the Jew of TODAY will have at least a chance to "see" the Spiritual Side of Moses' Law when others, such as Spying and myself, start to teach them a Gospel which is According to the Scriptures. But as it stands, the substitutional view of Yeshua's suffering and death only helps to keep the Jews hating the Cross, and being deceived. Once they "see" how they have "pierced" the Holy One of Israel, they will mourn because of what they did, and then receive the Spirit of Grace:

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
