  • What did Yeshua Command?

    Shalom Everyone, there are those who think that Yeshua ONLY commanded 2 NT commands: Love Father, and love neighbor. Is this understanding of what Yeshua commanded correct? Let's allow the Scriptures to determine if this is the Truth.

    First, one must consider, or look at the commands to Love Father and love neighbor. Yeshua was asked WHICH is the GREATEST command IN THE LAW OF MOSES. His response was to quote the command out of the Law of Moses about loving Elohim with all your heart, soul, and might (Deu 6:5), and then He adds the 2nd GREATEST command to love your neighbor as yourself (Lev 19:18). But the question is, were THESE the ONLY 2 commands He wanted us to do, or were THESE just the 2 GREATEST commands from the Law of Moses?

    Can the Scriptures speak? Let's look at some of the commands/words of Yeshua:

    Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
    Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
    Mat 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
    Mat 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is Elohim's throne:
    Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
    Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
    Mat 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
    Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
    Mat 6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
    Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
    Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
    Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

    Joh 13:14-15 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. (15) For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

    Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

    Joh 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
    Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
    Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
    Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohim: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

    Joh 14:23-24 Yeshau answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (24) He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

    There are many more sayings or words that Yeshua has commanded us to do, more than just the 2 GREATEST Commands from the Law of Moses. Please KEEP and do ALL what YESHUA Commands. ImAHebrew
    Col 2:16 & 17 Teaches us that no "man" is to determine what we eat or drink, or how the Sabbath, Holy Days, and New Moon should be observed, instead, The Body of Messiah IS to determine those things, just like what happened in Acts 15.

    Now, The Body of Messiah determined that since Moses is READ every Sabbath in the Synagogues (Acts 15:21), the Gentiles would be able to HEAR (Luke 16:31, John 5:46-47), and then do those things to farewell (Acts 15:29). Those FOUR necessary commands that The Body of Messiah determined for the Gentiles, were FROM the Law of Moses.
    Abstain from meats offered to idols
    (Exo 34:15), abstain from blood (Lev 17:14), abstain from things strangled (Deu 12:23), and abstain from fornication (Lev 19:29).
    So do not let anyone deceive you into believing falsely about the Law of Moses.

    Be not deceived.

    Shalom Everyone, Yeshua also asked us to not be deceived:

    Luk 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Messiah (saying "Yeshua is the Messiah"); and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

    Now, many have come in the "name" of Christianity, and do deceive. We are commanded by Messiah not to follow them. Hmm, another command of Yeshua.

    We also have the Apostle Paul commanding us to not be deceived:

    1Co 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Elohim? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of Elohim. (11) And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Master Yeshua, and by the Spirit of our Elohim.

    Isn't it obvious? Those who break the commandments of Elohim and teach others to do the same, are DECEIVED, and they have not been washed. ImAHebrew
