Posting Tips

I am starting this thread, so we've got a place to put tips for writing posts.

<B>1.</b> Find post number: Hover you cursor over the "Quote" button on the post and make a note of the "p=XXXX" at the end of the http address displayed (in IE, the lower left corner) on the screen. Let's say it's post number 4813.
<B>2.</b> Where you want the link to appear, code the following:
&lt;A HREF="showpost.php?p=4813" TARGET="_blank"&gt;This is the link&lt;/a&gt;
<B>3.</b> Press the following link that has been coded as explained in step 2, and it should open the single post in a window by itself. <BR><A HREF="showpost.php?p=4813" TARGET="_blank">This is the link</a>.

<B>NOTE:</b> If you do not code the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;TARGET="_blank"&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; portion, the single post will appear in the current window. <BR><A HREF="showpost.php?p=4922">Try this one</a>. <B>FYI:</b> This is going to display this post in the same window, so you don't have to navigate back here. Just press the "Posting Tips" link in the upper right-hand portion of the screen.

You can change the size and color of the print as well as other functions that you use in your post by learning to use the vb codes located in the posting rules box at the bottom of this page. Hit the "vB code" link and learn how they are used for these and other functions. Don't worry, you can't hurt anything so don't be afraid to try them!
